Hi there,
I am trying to make a little animation with my coorperate logo which is a octopus. First a round ball should fly in the far right side into the middle of the screen. Then the legs of the octopus should start to move out of the body. When the octopus is finished the name Okto Flight Cam should fly in from the far left side into the octopus so that the logo is finished.
Is this possible ???
Can you give me some help on this please ??
You can find the logo on our website. www.oktoflightcam.de
Thanks
Best Regards
Bill

Great set of tutorials! Thanks for this!

I personally would like to see a deeper tutorial on Synfig's drawing tools. While the bezier curves and such are fairly straight forward to begin with, there are some things (such as splitting a curve, joining multiple curves, and making regions out of multiple curves) that don't seem trivial.

As another request, I'd also like to see a tutorial on object/asset reuse, as it doesn't seem Synfig has any sort of "library" system built into it. When I say this, I would like to see both how to deal with libraries of static objects, as well as animated objects (ie a tree in the background that perhaps you want to use over many different animations or a background character walking that you similarly want to be able to use over many different animations).

You have a very deep question here. Most of the tutorials are made for a generally broad audience and it is difficult to do videos for very specific things. Object/asset reuse would be very useful, but I do not think it is developed strongly in the current version of Synfig. We are always trying to improve things here at PenguinTutorials, and hopefully we can continue to bring you more useful tutorials. For more help on the deep topics you are interested in, I recommend posting your questions over at the Synfig Forums or SuperUser.com

I'm sorry but Synfig only does animation without sound. To add sound to your animation, you will need to record sound with another program. After you record sound, mix it with the animation using a video editor.

I want to turn a sequence of caps into an animated GIF. Is there an idiot proof way to do this? Every tutorial I've seen is ludicrously complex.

You can take multiple images and turn them into a GIF animation using Gimp editor. Here are a few tutorials to help you out:

great tutorials.

Can you please make a tutorial on how to make a short animated movie/cartoon in synfig with images created in inkscape?

I'm sorry Chris, but Synfig is a vector-based animation program. What you are looking for is stop motion animation software. You may wish to look into one of these other software programs:
Pencil
Ktoon
StopMojo
